WHY THE BOSS?
The
BOSS seeks to bring development in its various forms closer to the people of the
Chimanimani area by giving them access to:
 | Basic forms of communication and technology such
as the telephone, a fax machine, a word processor and a photocopying
machine.

 | Business development services, including but not
limited to: budgeting, record-keeping, marketing and costing. |
 | Productive machinery such as peanut butter and
candle making machines in order to create income-generating opportunities. |
 | Current and up-to-date information on various
business and social issues affecting rural communities.

 | Microfinance services such as credit and savings
facilities.

The
consistent presence of the BOSS in the Chimanimani area will further assist
members in the following ways:
 | Eliminates the need to travel to multiple
destinations to complete several tasks.

 | Decreases the costs and time associated with
frequent travel to numerous venues in order to accomplish several tasks. |
 | Creates informed and knowledge-based rural
communities. |
 | Serves as a centrally and conveniently located
meeting place to hold gatherings and community events.
