SECRETARIAT

There are presently five people in the Secretariat.  One includes the Executive Director, who is responsible for the overall implementation of the programmes, realisation of ZOIC’s vision, fundraising and marketing of the training curriculum.  The Administration and Finance Officer is responsible for financial issues, cash flow management, audits and internal controls. Support staff includes the office secretary, who is responsible for completing and executing daily administrative tasks, as well as the driver/messenger.  A pool of Associate Trainers are also available when there is a training programme.

The organisation is well aware of the fact that it cannot effectively grow and deliver quality products to its target markets if it does not first build in-house expertise and institutional strength.  As ZOIC matures, its strategy will change and in order to become more effective, knowledgeable and efficient providers of services to the growing numbers of disadvantaged Zimbabweans, it must develop, improve and increase its human resources and their intellectual capacities.  Staff profiles follow:

PHILLIP BOHWASI is the Founder Executive Director responsible for the institutional upgrading of ZOIC in 1998.  Mr. Bohwasi acts as the secretary of the board.  From the University of Zimbabwe, Phillip holds a Diploma in Social Work 1987, Bachelor in Social Work 1990, and a Masters in Policy Studies 1999.  For more information on Mr. Bohwasi, please visit the Board of Directors page.
ALICE MAKORE is the Administration and Finance Officer.  She received her Bachelor in Business Studies in 1994 from the University of Zimbabwe.  She is currently studying for her CIMA.

TENDAI CHIPANDAMBIRA is the administrative assistant.  She has a diploma in Secretarial Studies and serves as the secretariat's Office Administrative Secretary.

CAROLINE MUREVI has been ZOIC's Associate Trainer since 1998.  She holds an Agri-Business Honours Degree from Australia.  She has participated in the ILO/IYB Training of Trainers as well as ZOIC's Associate Trainers' Course, and CDG Germany's Organisational Training and Marketing course.

STEPHEN NYAKUNEGWA is the office driver.  He holds a Class 4 Drivers license and has taken courses in defensive driving and motor maintenance.

Please contact our offices to reach any of the above personnel.
